Protagonist - 2022 Hangover Bowl /// Promo Package

I was a big fan of tape assets for this projects. I believe it was a cool, interesting way to add some tactility to the work without having to simply box things in with abstract shape tools.

You might be thinking “Wow, this guy does a lot of work for Protagonist. Was he on the payroll?”

Nah, nothing like that. I just had a special “in” with the business and was able to form a cool little relationship with them. If they needed promo made for an upcoming event, they’d reach out.

This go around was for a football thing they had going on New Years of 2022. I think it was essentially a huge watch party for all the college ball games happening that day, with the big one being Ohio State v Utah. The owners or Protagonist are Ohio State fans, if I remember right. Hence why I had everything done up in those school colors.

I wanted it to have a couple of nods to those playbook doodles you see in football. Little squares and circles with arrows pointing this way and that. It was by no means the beginning of it, but this was some good practice for the gritty/scribbly aesthetic that I would go on to fall in love with.
