Skylark Social Club /// Show Flyer
This was an unsolicited redesign of a show flyer I caught while browsing Instagram one day. I was looking for some practice inspiration and came across a local show happening at Skylark Social Club in Charlotte, NC. The original looks alright, and I saw a lot of potential to make it my own, so to speak.
The original had this cool illustration of a robotic geisha. I dunno what it has to do with anything, but itβs a neat visual, so I wanted to keep that image.
I looked around and found this stock image of, whatdoyaknow, a robotic geisha. I had to fiddle with it since it was cropped a certain way, but this is the cleaned-up version.
After that it was a matter of arranging the layout to accommodate all the relevant info, flooding it with an interesting gradient map, then adding all the finishing textures to really sell the nitty-grittiness of it all.
I think it actually caught the attention of someone over at Skylark. I noticed they reposted it to their Instagram story. Fingers crossed that senpai will notice any other work I do in the future.
