objective.

An old friend from school hit me up with a request for branding her side hustle, The product being centered around crochet goods. Knowing what I know about this person, I wanted to add a bit of macabre-flavor to the identity. Skulls seemed to be the way to go, since I had this neat idea to use a ball of yarn as a stand-in for the “brains”.

solution.

The final brandmark turned out to be a cute spin on the ubiquitous skull and crossbones, but with crochet needles substituted. The mark uses three Pantone colors, but can be reduced to a single color for stenciled applications.

Post-publishing note: I’m just now realizing it doesn’t make a lot of sense to have two ends of the string hanging out of the top. Wouldn’t one end be wrapped up within the ball of yarn? Oh well.
